See that little space that holds my soap and dish brush? S'cute, right? I bought that bottle of $6.50 soap tonight because I love lemon, and I loved how the bottle tied black and white together so beautifully the way my own kitchen does. I have other soaps, sure, but this one was one of those little happies that caught my eye, and despite the fact that I hadn't planned to buy anything, I purchased it without a second thought. I love little happies. I love giving them and getting them. Someone sent me a valentine of lipgloss samples yesterday, and it was utterly exciting. When your home is your place of "business" it can be kind of hard to keep the day to day chores and activities from feeling mundane and not special. I know it's the best job in the world, and I wouldn't trade it for anything, but I'm not gonna act like I always get happy over cleaning the same plate, bowl, tray, pjs, towels, socks, etc. day in and day out. Displaying my cute new soap in a special way adds a little extra splash of happy to my day, and I love that. So does the colorful planner I have on my desk, and the jar in which I keep my laundry detergent as opposed to that awful green box it comes in. No matter what your day to day looks like, find your own little "happies" and don't feel guilty for wanting or buying them. I bought a $6.50 bottle of soap not a $650 spa treatment. So what about you? What little something do you classify as a "happy?"Â Â
