(I was super excited to have something I wrote be published by Her View From Home. I don't claim to be a professional at all so it was really cool to have them run my post. I hope you like and can relate to it!)

My husband landed at the local airport today at 11am after being gone for the last 6 nights. He went out of town for a training that was from 9-3 every day. He spent his evenings eating out alone, going to the movies (twice), bowling, and reading his bible atop a cliff at a national park. Our daughter got the stomach bug while he was gone, and some of her throw up locations included my bed, my car, and my chest/hair. She pooped in the tub (twice), and was also in the thick of cutting her two front teeth. Every time my husband would text and say that he missed me I thought he was nuts. You are alone in a tourist town. You have a company paying for your food and hotel room where you can quite literally Netflix and chill all by your sweet lonesome. You have a pool and a gym and a Dodge Charger for the week. I was a bit jealous of his situation and confused as to why he was missing me. The thing of it is though is that that precious man meant it every single time he texted me. He did miss me. And I know he missed our little puker. When we picked him up from the airport I had Peaches and Herb blaring from my suburban. Windows down for all the world to enjoy. "Reunited and it feeeels so goooooood!" He smiled and danced, I laughed, and people stared. He went straight to his girl and they talked for a while in the back seat. We grabbed lunch, came home, got her down for nap, and then I got a hug and another "I missed you." I made sure to show him that I missed him too. Given my week I could have been ugly or stressed or bitter about his time away and even more so his coveted alone time. I have been before, and it was super cute on my part let me tell ya. But this time, I washed the puke off of myself and my child, slapped some makeup on, and wore the pants that I think are too tight but that my husband loves because I have a good man who misses me. A good man who works hard and travels and misses us so that I can be a stay at home mom and clean up puke. He is a good man, and I missed him.
